          ACTIVITIES

 

PRESIDENT OF FRIENDS OF THE LIBRIARY - With the help of the Branch Manager, the library moved from last place to first place in the CMRLS system. This was no easy feat with the number of libraries and the fierce competition involved. A new Children's Room was added, staff increased and improvements made to the building.  

 

WORKED WITH THIRD GRADE AT MENDENHALL PUBLIC SCHOOL - Read stories to the entire third grade, answered questions from author's point of view. Wrote ten supplimental stories to enhance their approved study guides and cirriculum. 

        

TAUGHT DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING AT FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH - Taught training course on the treasure principles for the church training program.

 

ACTIVE IN REPUBLICAN CAMPAIGNS TO GET CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATES ELECTED TO OFFICE - Campaign manager for candidate, wrote articles for newspapers, willingly spent time and money toward promoting candidates for office. Avid supporter of Sarah Palin.

 

ASSISTED GLEN AND JAN BOND ADDRESS THE MS PAROLE BOARD - Seeking denial of parole to their son's killer. Their son was a police officer in the execution of his duties when he was murdered in cold blood.

 

WROTE/PUBLISHED "STORIES FROM LIARS, FRIENDS AND THE INNOCENT," a collection of humorous short stories about southern  folks living in central Mississippi after the depression era.

 

READ STORIES TO RESIDENTS OF NURSING HOMES FOR THEIR ENTERTAINMENT - read my stories to the patrons of Summerland Manor at BaySprings, MS and Bedford Care Center, Hattiesburg, MS.

 

TEACHING  BIBLE CLASS EACH FRIDAY MORNING - Teaching the book of Revelation to a group of men from First Baptist Church at an informal gathering.

.MENTORING  WRITERS AND HELPING THEM TOWARD GETTING PUBLISHED - Am providing guidance and expertise to three writers who are near publishing their first books.
